I am happy to say that I have had excellent results since seeking treatment with Dr. Shmuel Tatz and the wonderful staff at Body Tuning. After 18 sessions of physical therapy, I have made significant progress in my goal of being able to return to performing as a professional musician and I am able to play more each day.
Prior to receiving treatment from Dr. Tatz, I suffered from pain and stiffness in my shoulder, back, and forearms which made it impossible for me to play guitar and to compose music. The grant I received from MusiCares enabled me to be treated by Dr. Tatz whose immense skill as a physical therapist is equally matched by his kindness and dedication. After eight sessions with Dr. Tatz, I had made significant improvement and was able to play for a longer time but still had pain which restricted me from performing at the level required of a professional musician.
I was very fortunate to receive an additional grant from the Musician’s Foundation which covered the cost of three more therapy sessions. As these three more sessions were still not enough, Dr. Tatz donated six more sessions to me! His amazing generosity enabled me to continue treatment with him and his partner and former student, Daniel Padmos. In these six additional sessions, I continued to recover in the hands of these two truly gifted physical therapists. I was also taught many helpful exercises in order to maintain my regained strength and flexibility. I would like to recommend Body Tuning Physical Therapy to any musician who is suffering from physical pain related to performance. Dr. Tatz’s highly personalized treatment is unique and it works.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to MusiCares for helping me to get this very important treatment. Thank you for your invaluable support. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Dr. Tatz, Daniel, Katie, and Jaqueline at Body Tuning for helping me to heal and teaching me how to move in a more harmonious and healthy way. There is such a joy that I feel being able to play my instruments without pain and this is becoming a reality for me more and more each day.
